Reasons You Should Upgrade to the Lennox EL280E Gas Furnace

Posted: 2023-01-03

If you’re tired of dealing with your old, inefficient furnace and looking for a replacement, consider getting one that comes with two-stage heating. Such a furnace distributes more consistent heat by using two levels of output. It determines what level of heat is needed for a particular situation, including a high setting for extreme cold situations and a low for milder days.

Four Seasons Air Specialists is your preferred heating company in White Bear Lake, MN. We offer an array of energy-efficient furnaces made by one of the best in the world.

Features of the Lennox EL280E Gas Furnace

The Elite® Series takes the Lennox® promise of exceptional comfort and performance to the next level. This superior product family delivers remarkable efficiency. It’s time to elevate your environment. It’s time for Lennox Elite.

Save money and energy with the EL280E gas furnace. The Power Saver™ constant-torque motor design inside the EL280E gas furnace adjusts airspeed based on demand. Whether you’re heating or cooling, that means you’ll use less energy and see lower utility bills. The EL280E’s constant torque motor is up to 46 percent more efficient than standard motors.

The EL280E gas furnace features a two-stage operation using a bigger flame when heating demands are greater, and a smaller flame when they’re not, so you get more even temperatures and lower gas usage.

The EL280E’s ultra-low continuous fan speed provides a quiet, constant flow of air and enhances indoor air quality devices.

When matched with a Lennox air conditioner or heat pump, the EL280E can improve your cooling Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER), which leads to greater energy efficiency and lower energy costs.

Air Quality

The EL280E is compatible with high-efficiency air filters and humidifiers to help clean the air that circulates throughout your home.

Energy Efficiency

With an efficiency rating of up to 80 percent AFUE, the EL280E can save you hundreds of dollars in heating costs per year, compared to older, low-efficiency furnaces. (Actual savings will vary depending on your area’s fuel rates and your family’s lifestyle.)

Its dual-fuel capability can be incorporated with an electric heat pump to create a dual-fuel system that maximizes comfort and fuel efficiency by smoothly alternating between electric and gas heat, optimizing energy use, and minimizing heating costs.

To minimize heat loss and maximize comfort and efficiency, Lennox created a sealed blower compartment for the EL280E.

Performance

This furnace has a Duralok Plus heat exchanger that is built from patented ArmorTuf steel that captures waste heat, and a stainless steel secondary heat exchanger that enables the unit to achieve industry-leading efficiency levels. This solid component exceeds industry requirements and extends the EL280E’s lifespan.

Its SureLight igniter increases its lifetime and improves reliability.

Its SureLight control board effectively controls its operation, guaranteeing better reliability and efficiency.

To further lessen heat loss, Lennox designed the EL280E with an elegantly-styled, durable steel cabinet with a high-quality paint finish.

The EL280E includes special sound-absorbing materials and a fully insulated cabinet that further reduces sound for even quieter operation.

Its Power Saver™ motor operates at constant torque to help maintain consistent airflow. Power Saver technology not only provides energy boost capabilities improving overall system efficiency.

Its dual-fuel feature allows you to use a compatible heat pump to save energy during milder weather. In mild spring and fall weather, it provides cost-effective and efficient heat.

As long as the temperature outside is above 35°F or so, a heat pump can draw heat from the outside air for less than it costs to fire up the furnace. The furnace kicks in for only the coldest months. Heat pumps save energy because moving heat is easier than making it. Interestingly, even when it feels cold outside, there is still a decent amount of heat waiting to be pumped. Under ideal conditions, a heat pump can move 300 percent more energy than it consumes.

Warranty

This product comes with a 20-Year Limited Warranty on the heat exchanger. 5-Year Limited Warranty on covered components. This product may be eligible for valuable 10-Year Limited Extended Warranty coverage with product registration.
