A. O. Smith ProLine Specialty Point-of-Use 6-Gallon Electric Water Heater

Many homeowners are still using traditional tank water systems that hold up to 80 liters of hot water in a large storage tank. However, there is a more efficient way to heat your water at home, a point-of-use water heater that only heats the water needed for immediate use. Unlike a tank water heater, this technology results in no standby energy loss.

Energy efficiency is the main reason why you should go with an electric point-of-use water heater. This is because many demand gas water heaters have a continuously-burning pilot light that wastes unnecessary gas and energy. While some tankless gas water heaters do come with a standing pilot light that can be turned off when not in use, most homeowners don’t have the time or energy to manage their water heater in this way.

Because electric water heaters do not utilize a pilot light, they require less supervision and use less overall energy than gas water heaters.

Point-of-use electric water heaters can reduce energy usage as much as 40%. If you’re considering water heater replacement, you can’t go wrong with a point-of-use electric water heater.

Four Seasons Air Specialists is a leading HVAC company in Vadnais Heights, MN that works with A. O. Smith to provide you with innovative and energy-efficient ways to heat your water during the cold months of winter.

Advantages of Tankless Water Heaters

  • Tankless water heaters are compact in size, taking up less space than conventional tank type water heaters.
  • They can virtually eliminate standby losses - energy wasted when hot water cools down in long pipe runs or while it's sitting in the storage tank.
  • By providing hot water immediately where it's used, tankless water heaters waste less water. You don't need to let the water run as you wait for hot water to reach a remote faucet.
  • A tankless water heater can provide unlimited hot water as long as it is operating within its capacity.
  • Expected life of tankless water heaters is 20 years, compared to 10 to 15 years for tank type water heaters.
